Springtime

Is there anything lovelier or more wonderful than springtime in Wisconsin? Spring will come and so will happiness. Hold on! Life will get warmer. That is one good thing about this world…There are always sure to be more springs. And if we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant.
I am looking forward to our 2021 year of taking care of our gardens in the community adding beauty to our world during these challenging days with COVID. Flowers are a gift to this earth. Their elegance and delicate touches have us all in awe and exhilaration.  A flower blooming in the desert proves to the world that adversity, no matter how great, can be overcome.

The year 2020 was a time of change and challenges for all of us.  The COVID affected the garden club in significant ways. Two of our members passed away due to the effects of the COVID virus. We feel the loss of Barb Ludwig and Judy Pierce in our hearts and in our club. They were active members who added much joy and diligent work with their delightful charm.

A memorial fund for Judy Pierce has been established by her family. Her memorial monies are being directed to the Garden Club. Her family would like to have a tree planted in Waterford with a plaque in her honor. If you are interested in donating, please send your check to:

Make note it is for the Judy Pierce memorial.

Honoring Barb Ludwig was done in October, 2020 as we had a special statue added to the Burlington Public Library. Stop by and see it. And be sure to watch the surrounding garden as our club develops this area with the beauty of flowers this spring
