Our monthly meetings will be held at the Burlington Senior Center, 587 E. State Street, Burlington at 6:30 pm, unless otherwise stated below. Everyone is welcome to join us and see what we are all about!
March 8 – “Growing fresh herbs in our gardens to help you stay healthy in body, mind, and spirit” by Susie Madunich, folk herbalist and owner of Aromatic Blessings in Burlington
April 12 – “Bees in your neighborhood” – Brooke Gilley, Park Naturalist at the Milwaukee County Department of Parks with Wehr Nature Center
June 14 – “Plants and Herbs of African Diaspora” – Lorrie Burrows, Boerner Botanical Gardens
July 12 – “Christmas in July” – At Arlene Coffey’s home, 5:30 p.m.
Bring a dish to share: side dish or dessert
Non perishable food collection will be taken for Love, Inc Food Bank
August 9 (10 am) – Field trip to Boerner Botanical Gardens – A 1- to 1 ½-hour educational, docent-guided tour at a special group rate ($15/person). Rain or Shine! We will meet at Cross Lutheran Church at 8:45 am to carpool – tour begins at 10 am.
September 13 – Painting “Kindness Rocks” for use in our fairy gardens at the Burlington Public Library, as well as initiation of new officers
October 11 – “Sandhill and Whooping Cranes” – Becky Von Haden
November 8 – Making Fall Arrangements with Pesche’s Greenhouse ($25 cost for arrangement)
December 13 – Plant a holiday bulb with the Burlington Garden Center Staff. Everyone will take home a bulb to enjoy watching it grow over the holidays! Bring a holiday goody to share.
