A Season of Hope and New Beginnings

We celebrate the beginning of Spring, March 20th, 2023. It is a season of hope and new beginnings. In the next few months, flowers will be sprouting up, and we’ll hear countless birds chirping. We will watch the rainfall renew the earth surrounding us as it refreshes the earth.

The Burlington Garden club anticipates a new spring season with excitement. We have already noticed that the tulips are coming up in the library garden. The Fairy Gardens will be created when it gets warmer. Be sure to visit the library to see what the fairies are doing this year!

We are pleased being part of the Adopt a Park Program organized by the Burlington Park District. The park that we adopted is Wehmhhoff Park which is in the center of our downtown area. It is a lovely gathering area for our community. Our annual plant sale is an event that you won’t want to miss. Save May 20th, Saturday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Riverside Park as we sell local perennial plants and garden treasures. This fundraiser supports our grants and scholarship programs. We are pleased to announce that our Garden Tour of outstanding local gardens is returning this year. Sunday, July 16th will be the special event where you can view the gardens and have a chance to win a lovely raffle gift. More details will be coming! But save this day to participate in a lovely event enjoying garden beauty. Our monthly meetings have begun. Don’t miss out on our interesting speakers and field trips. April 16th will be “Anything Orchids” by Don White. Everyone is welcome to attend. Our meetings are at the Senior Activity Center located at 587 E. State Street, Burlington. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. with the speaker followed by our business meeting. Join us in the gathering of those who love to garden and beautify our community areas.

Spring: a lovely reminder of how beautiful change can truly be.
