Veterans Memorial Garden

This garden brought the Burlington Area Garden Club and the American Legion together in beautifying the Veterans Memorial Statue in the Burlington Cemetery. The Garden Club planted the barberry bushes, mums, lamb’s ear and speedwell in the garden that circles the monument on a raised bed. Mary and Ed Krumrey and member Marge Koenecke were primarily responsible for the plantings. The garden now contains a memorial plaque for former member Mary Krumrey. The club members continue to plant and tend the garden of perennials and annual flowers and bushes. Come drive by and take a look sometime! It’s located in the Burlington Cemetery (visible from the road) on Browns Lake Rd. (County W) just north of Hwy 11.
